It was third time lucky for Lexi & Michael at Swynford Manor (Six Mile Bottom, near Newmarket). Their original date had been rescheduled due to Covid and then their 2nd date was a stripped-down, low-key wedding due to limits on guest numbers and social distancing at the time. Fortunately there were no restrictions for their third attempt where they could truly let their hair down, celebrate with all of their friends and family, and have a proper knees-up!
The Venue
They had chosen a beautiful venue for their Cambridgeshire wedding; Swynford Manor is a distinctive building, an 18th century country house with stylish, black-and-white modern decor and beautiful gardens for guests to explore.
Getting into the spirit
With the formalities of the marriage already concluded at their original wedding day, the later wedding ‘party’ was exactly as planned – a very relaxed celebratory party with lots of laughter and a fair few drinks!
Portraits
The manor gardens and spring sunshine provided some fresh air and a classic backdrop for some midday couple portraits with the bride and groom.
Confetti
The sweeping staircase above Swynford’s Grand Hall – featuring a crystal chandelier and black-and-white tiled floor – gave guests a perfect vantage point for hurling confetti and made for a great photo opportunity. The confetti was not in short supply and the guests were well-armed so this turned into a proper indoor blizzard!
Speeches
The speeches and wedding breakfast took place in the Garden room, filled with natural daylight streaming through the glass roof and floor to ceiling windows. Judging by the tears of laughter and number of toasts raised the speeches went down well.
After the speeches had ended the kids were able to burn off some energy in the gardens.
Evening dancing
The Garden room was transformed into the dancefloor in the evening. After the first dance it didn’t take long for others to join in on the action. A lovely Spring wedding and just what Lexi and Michael were hoping for.
